Changes in Due Date of Filing of TDS Returns w.e.f 01.06.2016

Due dates for filing of TDS quarterly returns From 1-6-2016 or TDS due dates from 01-06-2016 or changes in due date of filing of TDS returns w.e.f 01-06-2016. As we all know TDS means tax deducted at source, which means the tax will be deducted as and when the income arises or at the point of originated. And we all know that income and expenditure such as salary, lotteries, interests from banks, payment of commissions, rent payment, payments to freelancers, etc. fall under the ambit of TDS. When making payments under these segments, a percentage of the overall payment is withheld by the source that is making the payments. This source, which can be a person or an organization, is known as the Dedicator. The person whose payment is getting deducted is called the Deductive. For instance, a deductor is an employer paying salary to an employee (the deductee).

Moreover, we all know that we should file TDS Returns quarterly. Here are the due dates for filing quarterly TDS statements.Recently changes have been made regarding due dates for filing of TDS statements. Here is the list which shows that the filing dates from 1-6-2016 or changes in due dates for filing TDS statements w.e.f 01-06-2016.

Sub-Rule 2 of Rule 31A of Income Tax Rules specifies the due date for filing of

(a) Statement of deduction of tax under section 192 in Form No. 24Q;

(b)  Statement of deduction of tax under sections 193 to 196D in—

(i) Form No. 27Q in respect of the deductee who is a non-resident not being a company or a foreign company or resident but not ordinarily resident; and

(ii)  Form No. 26Q in respect of all other deductees.

Changes in Due Date of Filing of TDS Returns w.e.f 01.06.2016

The Due date as per rule are different for Government deductors and non-Government deductors, which is as follows:-

From 01-06-2016 the following are the due dates for filing of TDS Returns

before 1-6-2016 the following are the due dates for filing of TDS  returns or TDS Statements.

To bring Uniformity between government and non-government deductors and to give sufficient time in the filing of TDS returns, CBDT has revised the due dates for filing which come into force from 01-06-2016.

And after collecting TDS from deductee, by the deductors they should mandatorily deposit the TDS amount to the government .here is the list showing the dates for depositing the TDS amount to the government from 01-06-2016.

The following are the due dates for depositing of TDS amount.
